L’Architecture d’Aujourd’hui: A Witness to the Development of Modern Spanish Architecture (1950-1986)

Abstract

In 1986, L’Architecture d’Aujourd’hui published an interesting monograph dedicated to Spanisharchitecture. This issue was the culmination of a series of articles on Spain that had beenpublished in the magazine since the 1950s, which made it into the international periodicalthat paid the most attention to Spanish modernity in the second half of the twentieth century.This article explores the reasons for the French magazine’s interest in Spain, which include theaffinity of some Spanish architects with the magazine’s editorial team.
